School and youth work in Aloor, Kerala

Schoenstatt Fathers working in Aloor, Kerala, tell us about the most recent initiatives in May and June 2015.

Aloor Youth SchoenstattYouth meeting

On Sunday, 14 May 2015, we had special meeting for the Anathada youth. It was a new experience for our students. Some of our family group members and experienced animators were also present for the program. We began the meeting by 2 pm. Fr Johnson Panthappillil welcomed our parish priest Fr Manoj, who gave the first talk and inaugurated the meeting by lighting the lamp.  Our special speaker for the day was Fr Thejus, who really inspired the students through his talk.  For the rest of the day we have arranged party games for the students. All together the students were happy and inspired by the Schoenstatt way of formation.

MMSA AdorationMorning adoration

It is a new initiative for the students in our campus. We are doing open adoration in the morning for the students by 8:30, after the community prayer, in the house chapel. We began the program on Monday, 15 June 2015. Many students and members of the college staff are visiting the Eucharistic Lord and beginning the activities of the day there. During this adoration hour we pray for their special and personal intentions. We continue the program with the expectation of prayer support from all.

MMSA Schoenstatt MassFeast of the most Holy Eucharist

Mary Matha Schoenstatt Academy (MMSA) aims at the spiritual growth of the students along with their scholarly performance. This is why we do our best to provide all that is needed for the inner nourishment of the students. On 4 June 2015 we celebrated Holy Mass on the feast of the Most Holy Eucharist. Fr Jiju Kilukkan presided over the liturgical celebration. During his homily he insisted about the importance of Holy Eucharist. Some fathers from outside were helping to provide an opportunity for confession for everyone. We were very glad to witness the students going out from the chapel with a new energy and enthusiasm.

MMSA SchoenstattFeast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Joining the tradition of Kerala, MMSA has spent the morning hour for the veneration of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It was a real spiritual experience for all. We had special prayers and blessing inside the college. The importance of Sacred Heart was made clear through the impulse given by Fr Joy Madathumpidy. The whole campus is dedicated to the protection of Sacred Heart of Jesus. All the class rooms were blessed with Holy Water on this day.
